Here is your chance to win a free 30 minute photo session with Ashley Thompson and Jenny Collier Photography. Submit your picture to Mamarazzi of Tulsa to mamarazzioftulsa@gmail.com. We will then add the picture to the 2011 Cutest Kid Contest gallery on the Mamarazzi of Tulsa Facebook "Like" page. You have until August 1st, 2011 to submit your picture. The sooner you get your picture submitted the sooner you can start racking up votes on it. The voting window will be closed August 5th, 2011

Here is the low down:

TO ENTER

- One entry per child
- You must be the parent or legal guardian of the child you enter into the contest
- Child must be 17 years old or younger on the date of the entry
- Photos will be accepted from July 20th, 2011 until 10:00pm on August 1st, 2011 via e-mail.
- Photos emailed to mamarazzioftulsa@gmail.com with the subject line "Cutest Kid Contest" will be accepted
- Include your child's name and age in the email (first name and age will be posted for viewing) as well as your name and contact information
- Contest open to everyone, however, if you live outside of a 15 mile radius from Tulsa, Oklahoma you must choose a location within a 15 mile radius of Tulsa for your prize shoot

HOW PHOTOS WILL BE JUDGED

- All entries will be uploaded into an album by Mamarazzi of Tulsa when they are received to the Facebook "Like" page
- To vote for a photo you MUST be a "fan" of Mamarazzi of Tulsa on Facebook
- Click "like" for the photo you are voting for in the Mamarazzi of Tulsa album labeled "2011 Cutest Kid Contest"
- Photo with the most "likes" will be the winner. Comments permitted but will not count towards the total number of votes
- Voting will close August 5th, 10:00pm.
- Official winner will be notified and announced on August 6th.

WHAT YOU WILL WIN

- The parent or legal guardian of the child in the photo that receives the most "likes" will win one free photo session with Ashley Thompson Photography and Jenny Collier Photography
- Photo session must be booked within 30 days of winning and completed before September 30, 2011
- Prize retail value of $150 can not be altered or changed in any way is not redeemable for cash
- Prints will be available for purchase at retail prices if desired

The Mamarazzi of Tulsa photography workshop helps you move from "the little green box" to the world of shooting manually. We will cover the fundamentals of photography, lighting, composition, creativity, and how to become a Mamarazzi and capture those great storytelling photos of your children. You will finally feel empowered and not intimidated by your digital SLR camera.

The cost is $200 which includes breakfast and lunch. The workshop will run from 9am-3pm which includes a full day of lecture as well as a practice shoot with live models.

we get so many emails about what is the best (and most affordable) digital SLR for parents wanting to take better pictures of their children.

we recommend starting out with a canon rebel. save yourself $60 and purchase the body only. then invest that money into a better lens. one that we suggest is the 50mm 1.8. at around $100 it can't be beat. yes, it's a "fixed" lens meaning YOU are the zoom.

kit lenses (the ones that generally come with the camera) are not our favorite. the reason being that the aperture only stops down to a 3.5. with a lower aperture (such as that of the 50mm 1.8 lens) is that you are able to take photos in lower light settings. also, the aperture helps to create that pretty blurred background that we all know and love.

keep in mind there is a learning curve with a digital SLR. and if you're going to make the investment shouldn't you know all there is to know about shooting in different settings?

this is the reason we started mamarazzi of tulsa. we saw so many moms with great cameras who didn't know how to use them. we only plan to have 4 workshops in 2011. this means that availability is extremely limited. if you'd like to be on our mailing lists for dates and early registration information please send us an email at mamarazzioftulsa@gmail.com.
